Chargement de votre session...
Luha Yini is a place to learn Shikomori and to build, with its members, an open corpus of the language. This page explains what data we collect, why, who sees it, how long we keep it and how to exercise your rights.
Version of October 16, 2026
Ali Houssene Silahi, who publishes Luha Yini as an individual, is the controller of your data. For any question: luhayini@gmail.com.
Luha Yini applies Senegalese law no. 2008-12 of 25 January 2008 on the protection of personal data and, for people in the European Union (Mayotte included), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
| Data | When | What for |
|---|---|---|
| Account | When you sign up: email address, name and password (never readable, not even by us). With “Continue with Google”: the name, email address and photo that Google sends. | Identifying you and writing to you (verification code, forgotten password). |
| Profile | During onboarding, then in your profile: display name, island and town of origin and of residence, dialect, languages spoken, occupation, skills, ways of contributing; introduction and motivation if you fill them in. | Placing the voices (dialect, town), offering you texts in your dialect, organising campaigns. |
| Recordings | When you record in the Studio: your voice, the text read, the duration, the declared dialect and town, and some technical information about the device (model, system, recording quality). | Building the corpus and checking the quality of the takes. |
| Other contributions | Transcriptions, translations, dictionary proposals, review decisions and their reason. | Enriching the corpus and the dictionary, keeping their history. |
| Learning | When you learn while signed in: lessons completed, scores, certification test attempts and their answers. | Keeping your progress and levels from one device to another. |
| Technical logs | On every visit, at the host: IP address, page requested, date, browser. | Security and troubleshooting. |
No advertising, no audience measurement, no third-party tracker. We never sell any data.
A voice can identify the person speaking. Once a recording is approved, it is published in Luha Yini's open corpus with the text read, the dialect and the town, without your name or your email address. Signed-in members also see your display name next to your recordings (see “Who sees your data”): choose a pseudonym if you prefer.
The corpus is released under the free licence CC-BY-SA 4.0: anyone may listen to it, download it and reuse it, including to train speech recognition and speech synthesis tools. You accept this when you sign up, and you can withdraw a recording (see “Your rights”).
Never read out private information (people's names, addresses, numbers): you committed to this when you created your account.
Your email address is never shown to other members.
They process your data on our behalf, and only to run the service:
Your data is hosted in the European Union. Neon, Resend and Google are American companies: any transfer outside the European Union is covered by the safeguards provided by the GDPR (the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework).
You may access your data, correct it, erase it, restrict its use, object to it, receive it in a readable format, and withdraw your consent. Write to luhayini@gmail.com from your account's address: we answer within a month.
You may also contact Senegal's Personal Data Protection Commission (cdp.sn), the CNIL if you are in France or Mayotte (cnil.fr), or the data protection authority of your country.
Under 15, a parent's consent is needed to create an account and record one's voice.
The site is only served over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed by the sign-in service, administration access is restricted, and the audio folder runs no program.
Each version of this page is dated. Any significant change will be announced on the site or by email.
